Growing is inevitable

“We don’t grow old. When we cease to grow, we become old”. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

The joy of life comes from the journey, not the destination. When I look back at the experiences I’ve had in my life, I am surprised and amazed at what I have done and how far I’ve came.

Growing up I had been living in a chaotic, dark place, where I felt disconnected from people and awkward in my own skin. I dreamt of the far away lands in the books I read. I kept to myself, and for many years I was mute. Silenced by my fears and belief that I was limited.

However after many decades I realized that I was constantly growing, changing, forming into different versions of me.

No one stops growing, growth is inevitable.

Even when we think we’re stuck, or in a rut in life. We’re only like the seed under the soil. We’re ready to burst out and embrace the new world, and face new challenges. Rising from the soil is not the end of the journey, but just the start.

As 2024 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the changes happening around me. Friends are coming and going, people are discovering new paths, relationships are evolving, and opportunities for growth are emerging. The next two months promise even more new experiences, and I’m excited to see where life leads. For anyone else who feels swept up by the currents of change, I hope you’ll embrace the chance to grow, explore, and stretch your branches toward whatever awaits.
