So far my daily dose of Duolingo includes a bit of Turkish and the other languages I’ve been working on. Have I gotten any better at Turkish grammar or vocabulary? I think I’m still just a high beginner, and the concept of forming sentences still isn’t fully there.
I’m not currently making any extra effort to learn Turkish, except for maybe watching a few dramas once in awhile, and maybe picking up Turkish words from online discord.
I do think I still retained a lot of basic phrases and vocabulary. So going to Turkiye wouldn’t be too troublesome, and I’m finding cognates in other Turkic languages, like there’s a dish in Qazaq called beshbamark, which translates to “five fingers” and it’s similar to the Turkish which is beş parmak. Another word also is the qazaq word zhanym (жаным) — my soul, which reminded me of the Turkish word that sounds similar canım.
